Setting the Promotion Objectives For the Year
By Cheryl Forbes

What are your objectives for the year? It is the start of the year and it is the time to set your goals for the next 11 months. This will be the basis for your evaluation on how much you have achieved and how high your goals are for the next year. With the goals, you need to set your promotion objectives. So you know how high you are going to aim with your marketing goals with your objectives when it comes to your marketing and advertising strategies.

It is crucial that you are able to set realistic promotion objectives. This should encompass your strategies, elements of promotion, sales, public relations, direct mail, trade fairs and exhibitions, sponsorship and others. For every project or program that you have, you should be able to build awareness for your products. This means that you should establish the identity of your products and you should be able to reach your customers in the most effective way you know how. You should be able to tell your market who they are and what they want and tie it up with what you can offer. Aside from building awareness, you should be able to create an interest on what you can offer. You should be able to provide information on what the product is and why they should choose what you can offer instead of what your competitors can offer. Last but not the least; your promotion objectives should be able to create demand for your products. The right promotion should be able to get people to try your products.
