Owning a Family Owned Business Without the Start-up Stress
By Lance Winslow

Have you ever admired a small business person in your town, one who has their entire family working in the business? If so you are not alone, and you can certainly tell by the great customer service when all the employees own a piece of the business, its personal and thus, you get personal service as a consumer or client. Now, here is the next question, how would you like to own your own family owned business?

Many folks would like to have a family run business of their own, one which all the members of the family could work and participate in the profits. Of course, starting a small business and growing it is not all that easy, especially if you have never done it before. But did you know one great option for seeing this dream, your American Dream to fruition is to consider the Franchise Option.

That's right you could purchase a franchise opportunity and then allow the various people in your family to use their expertise. For instance, maybe someone in your family is really good at sales or is extremely outgoing? Maybe someone in your family is anal retentive and a stickler for details? May be they can run the inventory and help with payroll. Perhaps you have someone in your family with accounting background, you see how well this could work?

A franchisor knows that family run franchises have a much higher probability of profitability than a single individual buying into a franchise outlet. Franchises have a lot of advantages because there is a lot less stress during the start up period. If you start a business from scratch it might be too much trouble and cause friction in the family, but with a franchise you may be surprised how well things go.

It might be well worth your while to check out some of the franchises available and see if they match your family's skills. You could be pleasantly surprised to learn just how well matched you and the franchise system of your choice actually are. So, check it out, consider your options and do some studying on this, because a family owned business of your own, may not be all that far away.
