Six Sigma - Factors Critical To Customer
By Tony Jacowski

There are several different factors that are critical to the success of a company. No matter how large or small the business is, these factors must be addressed in order for the products or services being offered to directly reflect the standards of good quality that are adhered to on a regular basis. This is what keeps the customers coming back over and over again and is an important part of the many factors that are considered to be critical to customer satisfaction.

The actions, measurements, roles, responsibilities, and behaviors are crucial to the success of critical factors. The actions that are taken will directly affect the customer. They will also impact the quality of the products or services being offered. Companies must continue to offer good quality no matter what so there really isn't room for falling down on this aspect of business.

The measurements are what will tell the story. Six Sigma allows companies to measure various pieces of data which are then translated into information that can be used to solve problems. This information is important to the success of a company.

The roles and responsibilities of each employee are critical. They must be clearly defined so that employees will understand them. It's hard to follow a certain procedure if it isn't made clear and concise so this has a direct affect on quality as well.

Behaviors are also studied. This includes not only the behaviors of employees and others closely associated with the company, but also of the customers. If the behaviors of employees and others related to the various processes change, these changes need to be addressed and dealt with in a way that will reflect positively on the company. The behaviors of customers will directly impact the products and services. Should they change, the products and services offered will need to be amended to fit the new criteria. This is a common factor that must be measured often within the Six Sigma Methodology as customers' behaviors can change and knowing how to change with them is what will keep you in business for many years to come.
