It is estimated that by this time next year, due to this weakening economy, over 80 million people will be looking to work online at home, and find an internet marketing business opportunity. Millions of people will be looking to the world wide web in search of legitimate home businesses to either supplement their income, or replace it all together. There is no better time than now to position yourself in front of this growing industry.
I think most people who begin this search, and you may be one of them, is going to ask the following:
• Is it really possible to earn a living online?
• How will I know if the program or opportunity is the real deal or a scam?
• How do I get started?
• How do I determine a good opportunity from a bad one?
I asked all of these questions myself a year and a half ago when I first started looking online. It was January 2009. I had lost about 40% of my stock portfolio value in the fall of 2008. This was not a good thing for me being an artist. Our careers come with out of the ordinary challenges as it is. It also seems whenever the economy weakens, we are often hit hardest since art is deemed a luxury, not a necessity. I found myself glued to Google searching for ways to make money online along with needing to learn how to effectively market my two art websites. I jumped right into a few programs without doing nearly enough research, combined with internet ignorance and impatience. I was pulled into the first program by a young mentor talking the talk, but he never showed up for me at all. He took my money, and basically disappeared despite numerous emails I sent asking for help. It cost me a lot of money, time and ended in frustration.
I went on to invest more cautiously in other more affordable programs that came with 30-60 day refunds. This was good because I didn't have a clue as to what I was doing. I basically was willing to invest $27-$97 in various programs the internet marketing gurus were offering in an effort to learn. Some of the programs I kept, and still refer to. But most of them made my head swim, and I couldn't wrap my head around all the work involved. But I managed to learn a lot. I got on the gurus mailing lists, and explored it all...until I fell prey to the biggest threat that dooms a large percentage of newbie marketers...information overload. It took months for me to learn how to navigate and control my ship while sailing the world wide web sea. Trust me: it can quickly become sink or swim.
So, to answer the questions at hand:
• Yes, making a living online is very possible. If you are new, it is going to take some time, and work, to learn the basics and grasp all the possibilities. Despite what some people say, you CAN earn cash quick. And no, you will probably not make a million overnight, but you can certainly get started in the direction of being able to make a million in far less time than you ever thought possible.
• You won't know if one of the money making programs is the real deal or a scam until you are in it. You can try to determine this ahead of time by searching on Google for reviews, but you will get a wide range of opinions and often inadequate information that doesn't really clarify the issue. If every review you read reports the program as a scam, then by all means steer clear. Basically, without direct access to someone who can answer your questions, you just won't know for sure.
• To get started, with the least amount of frustration and overwhelm, it is best to join an internet marketing business opportunity that comes with a mentor who will answer your questions, teach and guide you and provide you with plenty of training materials, and most important, direct access to them at anytime. I suggest you put your mentor to the test BEFORE joining to make sure they are truly available to help you, and you trust they will genuinely be there every step of the way. It won't do you any good if they never return your calls or emails, especially when you are stuck and really needing immediate help. There are so many programs out there with no direct access even to support, and I have often waited over a week, or more, to even get a response. If this happens more than once, I usually end up ditching the program as it's just too frustrating. A good mentor is worth pure gold.
• A good internet marketing business opportunity, in my opinion, must allow for direct access to a mentor, or support team or a training professional. If you have this from the get go, you will be able to have all your questions answered quickly and easily so you can move forward. For me, the quality of help and support I can have is absolutely key, and crucial to my success. You will make fast progress with a hands on experienced guide instead of being stuck, confused and overwhelmed. I would not join a program or an opportunity that does not provide several options for direct access. In my experience, an email support address is just not enough.
To have the success of a home based web business, you need only follow in the foot steps of those who have gone before you instead of striking out on your own to reinvent the wheel. You can do that later when you are a master marketer. Internet marketing is now providing many people the chance to quit their job, replace their lost job, earn a living and for some, to become very wealthy. If you find the right internet marketing business opportunity for you, you can create a new life with a potential recession proof income.
