MLM?
I have been there done that and I have a whole closet full of t-shirts, but guess what - I did make some money at it. That's NOT what this report is about, but I can't deny it, we peaked at $24,500 a month, and had a couple of years around the $20k a month mark - very sweet work if you can get it! AND we sold a solid product at a competitive price which made a difference in people's lives. Here's the problem: In order to pay a chain people down an MLM pay plan, the product almost always must cost the customer more than it's worth in the market place.
Any Home Based Business Opportunity must be considered carefully before you jump in. And even then, you may find out you jumped the wrong way!
There are two things you must have for success:
1. A market for the skill or the service which is big, growing and screaming at you to help it (the market of people wanting your service or product).
2. A product or service which has some resistance to competition.
In other words, you don't want everyone on the block jumping into the same business to compete with you. What we're really talking about is a "barrier to entry", but it can't be too high or you can't get over it. For example, we know you'll succeed if you open a Mac Donald's restaurant, right? But the barrier is now something like $500,000. Do you have $500,000? I didn't think so!
Another type of barrier would be the required skill set.
The average person can learn to unlock, program, and repair modern automotive locks. However, it's complicated enough that it even has 90% of EXISTING locksmiths scared silly! You can call a bunch of locksmiths, but you'll have a hard time finding one who does cars. Oh, you will find one, but it won't be every locksmith you call! I needed on the other day. It was $165 to unlock the car and make two keys - it took him 45 minutes!
iPhone repair is another good skill-set example.
It is not easy to replace the glass on the 3G, or the 3GS. It's really hard on the 4G. Don't even try the iPod 4! However, if you can repair these expensive and well-loved little devils, you can pretty much print money. The iPhone or "Apple Devices Repair" skill set is not so high that the average person can't do it - but most are too timid or don't believe they can learn the skills, and so, competition is low.
I had my glass screen replaced on my 3GS the other day by an independent iPhone repair person for $49. It took him 15 minutes. I got him to tell me how much the parts were - $6! Yep, he made $43 in 15 minutes.
The bottom line?
Look for a skill set you can handle. Jump in, work hard, and work at or near home! The money can get serious fast! Yes, it's possible to make spare change from home. It's also possible to "clean up" and make $50k, $100k or more from home.
