Being a success in recruitment consultant's jobs require a lot of hard work and determination. You will need a certain element of flair, charm and personality in order to schmooze your clients into consistently giving you their vacancies to fill. Of course the role isn't always down to that, as you need to be a hard worker and generally a great judge of character!
As well as a regular flow of vacancies to fill, you of course need a high standard of candidate. After all if you haven't got the candidates how can you expect employers to want to hire them?
Choosing the right candidates can be difficult at times and can require a little bit of thinking outside of the box compared to what you may usually do. Two of the easiest methods of finding the right candidates for the latest vacancies is to look at your past. No, I'm not talking about remaining about old Christmas dinners or birthdays, but some candidates that you have met before!
A good, but often under used is idea is to call a candidate that you have placed in the area that you are looking to recruit somebody in. The chances are that they will be aware of somebody that is either looking for a new job, or could at least recommend somebody that might be interested. Your former candidates should be more than willing to help you - after all you got them a job before! As well as a name, you can get a character reference from somebody that you will trust.
You could also call candidates that you have previously placed. To build up an effective back catalogue of candidates, you do need to be in the recruitment consultant business for a while. But you will find that that candidates that you placed in vacancies a few years ago. History has a habit of repeating itself, with people tending to look for new jobs every few years. Give them a call, you already know that they are worthy candidates and they could be the person that you are looking for to fill your latest vacancy.
So there you have two possible solutions you can find from simply calling your former candidates on your database if you are struggling to find the right people to help fill your client's vacancy.
The above two possibilities will not always lead to success, but you will be surprised how many times they will help you earn your wage!
