Did you ever notice how we tend to feel very comfortable around people we admire? Those people are generally the ones who make us feel good about ourselves. I'm speaking about leaders.

Leaders have the ability to inspire others. I can speak from experience as it has been very rewarding to participate in leadership roles throughout my entire career. I feel leadership is a necessary skill to achieve success in any endeavor you choose.

Here are some typical behaviors and characteristics that leaders tend to have.

1. Positive and Caring Attitude...Others are more apt to achieve success when they are surrounded by a positive and caring leader.

2. Leaders have vision... They will tend to envision something and get everyone excited around them about that vision. I say Dream Big!

3. Trustworthy and Honesty..You will be relied upon to keeping your word. This is valuable.

4. Have fun... You can still be a great leader and have fun doing it. Laughter is very healthy!

5. Listening Skills... A leader will listen to the worries, frustrations and desires of others.

6. Serve...A true leader will be concerned about the welfare others and will constantly be giving valuable support to motivation to those in need.

So my question to you is this. Are you a leader? Do you want to become a leader?

I have gained a lot of respect through the years implementing and displaying these behaviors. If you found yourself reading through this list and you do not display some of these characteristics, that is okay. Our behavior can always be worked on. There is always room for improvement, right?
